Wishing All Parents And Their Children A Happy Republic Day!

Today, the 26th of January 2008 is a very special day to all of us Indians as our motherland was declared as an independent sovereign state. India’s constitution came into effect on 26th January, 1950 and so, this day is very special to all Indian people across the globe. It marks the beginning of our establishment as an independent country free from British rule. When we had not gained independence, Lokmanya Tilak had quoted a statement:

“Swaraj is my Birthright”.

The statement he quoted has a high value even today and every parent must realize that. Children require to be felt independent and self-dependent at an early age. Many-a-times, we as parents do not give our children “their birthright to express, think and act freely”. We restrict them on many issues by judging them as good or bad/right or wrong. We do not let them decide by themselves whether the issue in focus would have a good result or a bad one.

Most importantly, most parents lack good communication skills with their children. This is because they lack good communication skills within themselves. Parents must develop their communication skills in order to develop rapport with their children.

As a parent, you would want your child to become of those movie stars or even sports persons. You would definitely want your children to become a “star” or a “leader” in whatever way best possible. Freedom is the most essential aspect of good parenting as without freedom, your children will never succeed in whatever aspect of life they wish to succeed. Happy Republic Day and Happy Parenting!
